以林肯為核心人物，侃侃而談地道出他被槍擊前的最後一段政治生涯，
還有他的政治人生和思想；同時側面描寫與他一起並肩作戰的盟友夥伴。
羅馬非一日建成；治國之君非一人之力也。
倘若沒有他們的存在，林肯或許無法順理成章地繼續執政，
也無法在大多數反對票的威懾下取得最後的勝利。

演員的語調時而鏗鏗有聲，時而嘁嘁測測，時而低聲細語，時而咄咄逼人；
他們的對白幾乎取代了所有配樂，利用最基本的聲音製造製造高潮。
Daniel Day-Lewis的表演確實充滿了感染力。
